The Chinatown Community Educational Partnership (CCEP) will host an adult education book & materials fair for the Chinatown community this month, as part of Boston’s Adult Education and Literacy Week.

Where and when:

• Tuesday, May 18, 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

• At Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center’s (BCNC) 38 Ash St. site, near Tufts Medical Center.

• Free admission and open to the general public.

What will be available at the fair:

• Representatives from publishers Cengage/Heinle (makers of Downtown, English in Action, Sam and Pat, and Stand Out series) and Pearson/Longman (makers of North Star, Side by Side, Workplace Plus and Betty Azar grammar series) will be on hand to show, explain and sell or help order materials for learning English.

• Volunteers will help participants order online from other publishers such as Oxford University Press (maker of the Oxford Picture Dictionary).

• The Asian Community Development Corporation will also distribute free educational materials concerning home ownership, good credit and money management.

• Other Chinatown adult education and immigrant assistance agencies will have free information about their classes and services.
